A Proud Hockey Dad and Mom Moment!

Well, today was Avery's first Hockey game....After 1 year with the Newcastle Skating Club, and 20 practices with the Newcastle Stars Mighty Mites, Avery lined up to take his first face-off and play in his first ever game! Colleen and I could not believe it though, when Avery got the nod to take the first ever faceoff for the team at center ice!! Talk about your proud hocky Mom and Dad moments!! To make the moment even better, Avery took the face-off against Micheal Kucey, who I happened to coach in baseball this year, and whose Dad was my assistant coach of that same team! WOW!!!! What a Day!!!

Avery keeps telling me he wants to be a goalie, and I keep telling him NO!!! Despite my stern lecture about the financial hole Mommy and Daddy would go into if he chose to be a goalie, Avery played 4 shifts in Goal!

Anyone have $1500 for Goalie Equipment??? GULP

New Member of The Family!!!!

Hello Everybody!!!! Meet Houdini!!! He is the newest member of the Shrigley Family. Santa Claus dropped him off early for Avery and Erin on Sunday Night! Houdini is a purebred Beagle that fell into our lap. He is 15 weeks old and is almost housebroken. He loves to play and take walks and is especially fond of children! He is primarily non-allergenic so Dad is having fun with him too! He is a welcome new member of the family.....well almost welcome.....the cat doesn't seem to be very pleased....oh well!!! 

 

Avery's New Best Friend!

No doubt about it, it was love at first sight for these two! Avery and Houdini are attached at the hip, and do everything together. They truly are best friends and absolutely LOVE playing with each other!
